Covid-19 Update

frog protected under a lotus flower.

Steptember 28, 2020

As we move into the Fall Season, a great many changes continue to unfold. The global pandemic continues to affect our lives with constant reminders oftentimes accompanied by angst. But through the hardship, tenacity keeps finding its way. Center stage these days are parents and grandparents who are navigating diverse plans across children’s care and schooling. For many, they are very much alone while others can lean into extended family and friends. All are striving to work, play, and embrace life as much as possible. This is yet another crossroads, among many, calling on our deepest reserves. We also continue to witness the enduring front-line of compassionate clinicians, clergy, and caregivers whose dedication drives incredible inspiration and healing.

PPI is committed to serving the community in as meaningful and robust ways possible. Our vigilance to maintain access to services of the highest quality remains steadfast with the goal to be available to anyone seeking our support. With most of PPI’s church office branches remaining closed, and the recognition that our own staff’s capacities are stretched amid today’s demands, PPI will remain fully virtual for now. We will continue to closely monitor these and many other critical variables with an unwavering focus on the well-being of our clients. As we review this decision every month, we strive to bring in-person services back alongside an ongoing choice of telehealth. PPI looks to the new year as an opportunity to do so with confidence, quality, accessibility, and safety. We understand and appreciate your interest in this plan and will keep you apprised with updates through this website as well as the staff.

The Leadership Team would like to extend our gratitude to the many clients who recently responded to PPI’s Telehealth Survey. Your voices are far-reaching and have helped to guide us through considerable planning and strategic decision-making. I personally welcome your additional thoughts and invite any one with questions, concerns, and/or comments to contact me directly at pcampbell@ppicounseling.org. Please do not hesitate to review the Career Assessment and Development (CAD) and Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) pages for updates on these programs which are currently on hold.

Blessings,

Patti

June 25, 2020

The Pittsburgh Pastoral Institute (PPI) is continuing a virtual service delivery system throughout the Summer.

This means that face-to-face counseling, education, and training will resume no sooner than September. PPI’s eventual transition back to face-to-face services will be determined using the CDC’s recommendations adhering to regional, state, and national data being monitored daily. The safety, health, and well-being of our clients and staff remains PPI’s priority and commitment. Please know that any/all changes to PPI’s status will be publicly posted here and made available to our clients through their therapists and the Leadership Team.

As we move into the days ahead, PPI is poised to offer ongoing telehealth and eventual face-to-face services as viable. It is our hope that both forms of communication and contact will be possible based on, again, the individual needs of our clients. We are currently using multiple forms of technology spanning online connection through basic telecommunications to be accessible, attainable, confidential, and safe. Our priority is to be steadfast to our clients’ needs, always offering the quality of services for which PPI is best known.

The ongoing ability to offer behavioral health services and education, yielding both an interfaith and spiritually integrated presence, is critical. I am deeply grateful to our staff, Board of Directors, partners, and community for their unwavering support throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Even more so is my appreciation to the many individuals and families who entrust us every day with their lives. On behalf of the PPI family, we are honored to work together with you, walk with you, and remain a refuge amid an ever-changing world.

Blessings,

Patti

March 19, 2020

The Pittsburgh Pastoral Institute (PPI) remains open and available to its clients and the community.

To continue to provide services to as many individuals, couples, and families as possible, PPI has shifted from in person counseling and education to telecommunications. This means that we have built, and are offering, ongoing and new therapy services to all seeking our support.

Telecommunications means using several ways in which our counselors are able to meet with you that do not require face to face interaction.  The CDC recommendations are critical to keep you and our staff safe while also honoring our community’s well-being.

If you currently see a counselor at PPI, please feel free to reach out to your therapist directly if they have not already contacted you.  They will walk you through your options and be available to you to make this change as easy and comfortable as possible.

If you are seeking PPI’s counseling services please complete the new client registration online. Our Intake team will reach out to you and discuss your options and guide you toward a therapist to begin receiving the support you need.

We invite you to follow this Website and PPI’s Facebook page for ongoing updates as they occur. Our face to face counseling services will resume once this temporary situation changes.

If you are in crisis please call the ReSolve hotline at 1-888-796-8226.
