Kathleen Brainard-Lee MA, LPC

Biography

Kate is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has a special interest in working with women’s issues, and with recovery from trauma of all kinds. She believes that God, our Creator, wants to heal all facets of us – body, mind, and spirit. She describes her career as a lifelong joy in encouraging others through their life challenges, and she is honored to walk with others on their growth journeys.

Kate received her bachelor's degree in medical technology from Eastern Mennonite University in 1988 and her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Waynesburg University in 2008. She also has special training in Gestalt pastoral care and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Her education and experience have enabled her to counsel her clients dealing with trauma, depression and anxiety and she utilizes a psychodynamic person-centered approach.

Kate moved to Pittsburgh with her husband in 2000. When she is not working, she enjoys reading, time in with her family, gardening and she kayaking.
