Brenda Wilker, LPC

Biography

Brenda is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) working as a Therapist for the Pittsburgh Pastoral Institute. She approaches therapy with an eclectic perspective that seeks to try and meet her clients where they are.  She works with adults to help manage depression, anxiety, relationships and most life issues. Brenda likes to meet everyone first and then assess if collaboration is beneficial in helping a client move forward and become comfortable managing their lives independently.

Brenda earned a counseling psychology degree with couples and family focus from Seton Hill University and she also has NCC certification. She has over 16 years’ experience as a masters level therapist and a decade of time before that in the field as an undergraduate counselor for various agencies.

When Brenda is not working, she enjoys reading, time with family and friends, traveling when she can and learning new things. She has experience with many different faiths and believes that spirituality and religion are two different things. Spirituality is an important part of life which may or may not always include religion, however, that most faiths or practices use tools that can be incorporated to help many people manage their lives.
