Jo Ellen (Jo) is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), Certified Co-occurring Disorders Professional Diplomate (CCDPD), Certified Sentence Mitigation Specialist (CSMS) and certified lay servant/speaker with the Western Pennsylvania United Methodist Conference. She served in the United States Air Force and held many titles such as Social Action Liaison, Primary Alcoholism Counselor, Social Action Specialist, and Crisis Line Manager over her 10-year active duty.
Jo earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Indiana University and a Master's in Educational Psychology, Rehabilitation Emphasis (MEd) from the University of Utah. Her approach is eclectic and client centered using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Trauma Informed therapy.
Jo has extensive experience in women's and men’s issues, trauma recovery, mood disorder management, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning disorders, high-functioning autism, grief and loss, major life changes, and re-entry/re-integration needs. She is confident to include your faith and taking a spiritual based approach by request.
